The Singaporean Who Saved Kyoto Traditional Townhouses

In the heart of Kyoto stands two 100-year-old traditional townhouses that were restored by a group of Singaporeans and Malaysians. Lee Yong Chye, a graduate from Osaka University, believes in giving back to Japan by contributing to the preservation of this important cultural heritage, which is slowly diminishing in modern Kyoto.
